Winter stories

It is nearly Christmas and closer and closer to the end of the year. It will be our first Christmas in the Highlands. It seems already so different and distant from those ones which we spent and celebrated in Edinburgh. Our wintery and pre-Christmas days are very simple. Simple and relaxing. We walk to the woods, make Christmas wreath whilst listening to the music sent by my mum. We sit in front of the fire in the evenings, munching roasted chestnuts and waiting till freshly baked bread cools down.
Time of ‘winter stories’ came. I make them in watercolours. ‘People on the rock’ represents a memory and also winter time at the seaside. My painting is based on the photograph taken in Oslo.  You can always meet people on the rocks at the seaside. Sometimes they like to skip and jump playfully on the rocks and sometimes they just contemplate and have simple meditation and moment of stillness looking at the sea. We are people on the rocks. We are winter stories.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas…

Winter and shootnig stars

It took me a while to gather the words. I have felt for a long time that there were not much what I could share. Adapting to changes brought silence and peace. I needed a spark, shooting star which could wake me up from winter hibernation. I always thought that when I would have a new life growing in me my creativity would be in full blossom. But it did not work this way for me. I started to realize that my creativity subconsciously focused on baby and its magical- miracle creation. I understood that now I will share my creativity with this new part of me. It takes time to come back to painting. But once again I realized that creativity cannot be speed up. Waiting and patience are the answers. Inspired by the place where we stay and time of the year, my spirit is fulfilled with layers of blue and white. Constellations and star stories are still present too. There is something magical about the stars. I still remember all the moments in my life when I sent wishes to the night sky after seeing a shooting star. I have to admit that all of them came true. There is also the silence full of emotions when we look up at the night sky covered with stars.

Surroundings

Winter surroundings

November

I have not been posting for a while. Lots of big changes happened in my life which shaped it into new pathways and directions. My creativity focused on the little new life growing in me. Also we moved to live on the North, to Scottish Highlands. New surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Days are filled with time, walks into the woods and creativity which is coming back. Nights not like in the city are full of stars and constellations. Star stories are definitely happening here. The most important I could not be happier and grateful than I feel now with all changes which happened in the past months.
My creativity and work are very intuitive now. So I am trying to follow it and give it time to unfold. Unfinished stories are coming out and new ones taking place almost simultaneously.
Winter is coming…

Sun prints

July is full of journeys. Journeys with a beginner mind. These journeys are physical, spiritual and inspirational. It is time of going home, sharing moments with my family, sketching, cycling, warming in the sun, watching sunsets, making my first batch of shampoo and peach conserve. All these little things become moments of pure happiness and gratitude.  These are also journeys of steeping back into the past and looking at myself with love and acceptance.
My first sun prints:
