Winter stories

It is nearly Christmas and closer and closer to the end of the year. It will be our first Christmas in the Highlands. It seems already so different and distant from those ones which we spent and celebrated in Edinburgh. Our wintery and pre-Christmas days are very simple. Simple and relaxing. We walk to the woods, make Christmas wreath whilst listening to the music sent by my mum. We sit in front of the fire in the evenings, munching roasted chestnuts and waiting till freshly baked bread cools down.
Time of ‘winter stories’ came. I make them in watercolours. ‘People on the rock’ represents a memory and also winter time at the seaside. My painting is based on the photograph taken in Oslo.  You can always meet people on the rocks at the seaside. Sometimes they like to skip and jump playfully on the rocks and sometimes they just contemplate and have simple meditation and moment of stillness looking at the sea. We are people on the rocks. We are winter stories.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas…
